It looks like another light novel series is on its way to an anime adaptation, though what kind we don’t know yet, with Saikyo Onmyouji no Isekai Tenseiki. Announced in January 2022, the project was recently updated with its first key visual below and first teaser promo. Now, Crunchyroll has confirmed their pickup for it as The Reincarnation Of The Strongest Exorcist In Another World with January 2023 plans for a simulcast. That has them dropping a subtitled trailer as well below.
Ryosuke Shibuya is directing it with Nobuyoshi Nagayama serving as the chief director. Toukoa Machida is writing and supervising the scripts while Masayoshi Kikuchi and Sayaka Ueno are handling the character designs. Studio Blanc is on board for the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Yumiri Hanamori as Seika Lamprogue
- Azumi Waki as Efa
- Nene Hieda as Amu
- Yuichiro Umehara as Kuga no Haruyoshi
The series comes from writer Kiichi Kosuzu which translates as A Record of the Strongest Onmyouji’s Reincarnation to Another World. The novels began online in 2018 with print editions starting in 2019 with five volumes released so far for it by Futabasha.

Plot Concept: The story focuses on Haruyoshi, who is the strongest onmyōji (diviner) in his world. He’s betrayed by his friends and, on the verge of death, he wishes to be happy in his next life. He then attempts a secret reincarnation spell. The spell is a success and he is reincarnated, but somehow it’s in another world. He is reborn into a distinguished family of wizards, but is judged to have no magical ability. He soon realizes however that the magic in this world is nothing compared to his old onmyō arts, and he declares that he doesn’t need magic. He thus begins his easy life in another world with his onmyō arts and a multitude of yōkai creatures who follow him.
