We learned back in September 2020 that HBO Max had given the green light to a Peacemaker series as a spinoff from the recent The Suicide Squad film. The spin-off series for this will run for eight episodes in a straight-to-series order with Cena reprising the role. The series made its debut on January 13th, 2022 and it has gotten a lot of attention over the course of its run, enough so that it has a second season being developed as well.
Now, Warner Bros. is looking to expand on the project by releasing a Blu-ray of the series on September 6th, 2022. It’s listed as just a Canadian release on Amazon so far but it’s expected that a US edition will be coming as well.

He took this character, brought to life by the inimitable John Cena, and created an exceptional series that’s simultaneously thrilling, hilarious and heartfelt, showcasing the humanity beneath this team of misfits living in a superhuman world. As the first original DC show to have its series premiere on HBO Max, we are thrilled that the viewers agreed to give peace a f***ing chance.”

I can’t wait for folks to see where Team Peacemaker goes in Season Two!”

- John Cena as Peacekmaker
- Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo
- Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith
- Jennifer Holland as NSA Agent Emilia Harcourt (reprising her role from the film)
- Chris Conrad as Vigilante aka Adrian Chase
- Steve Agree John Ecnonoms, the warden of Belle Reve
Gunn will tackle this prior to the startup of production for the third Guardians of the Galaxy film.
Plot Concept: The show will explore the origins of the character that Cena plays in the 2021 movie.
