The Black Adam film has been in a wait-state for a while with Dwayne Johnson starring as the title character for Warner Bros. / New Line. The project has worked through a lot of its filming in Georgia and was originally set with a July 29th, 2022 release date for it. The film, and several other projects from Warner Bros., were then delayed due to production delays that are going on from a host of reasons that many companies are facing in the post-pandemic era with backlogs for visual effects and the like. That resulted in this film moving from its July 29th, 2022 release to an October 2022 release date.
Now, as part of the big summer push to highlight what’s coming in the fall as the summer films roll out, a special trailer was put together for the panel for the film at SDCC today that you can see below.
Jaume Collet-Serra is on board to direct based on the screenplay turned in by Adam Sztykiel.
The cast includes Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel/Cyclone, Mo Amera, Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson/Dr. Fate, and Djimon Hounsou as Shazam.
