While fans have “cast” Keanu Reeves in a number of anime properties over the years that they wanted to see him in, he’s actually going to be in an actual anime now and it’s from his own comic series. We learned back in March 2021 that BRZRKR, which Reeves created and is co-written by Matt Kindt with artwork by Ron Garney and bringing it to film and anime with Netflix.
We learned at the time that Reeves is set to star and produce in the adaptations with the feature film side first and then the anime spinoff property but it’s been largely quiet since then as these kinds of things take time to unfold.
Now, at SDCC, it was revealed at the panel for the property that the anime side is being planned as a two-season project with Production I.G> producing it and that it will come after the live-action film as an expansion. Reeves is still attached to voice his character from the film
Plot Concept: The story is about an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year fight through the ages.
