King Records is going back to the original work with one of my favorite series with Underwater Ray Romano, I mean, Utawarerumono. With a new series coming out this summer, a chance to sell the False Faces series again is a given and they’ve set a new Blu-ray box set for a June 29th, 2022 release. The 25-episode six-disc set will be priced at 29,800 yen which will come with the clean opening and closing sequences as well as the promos, commercials, and the movie bit.

With the set ever closer, we now have a look at the cover artwork for it.

The series was directed by Keiitaro Motonaga  based on the series composition by Takamatsu Kouno. Masahiko Nakata worked on the character designs and served as the chief animation director with animation produced by White Fox.

Plot Concept: The nameless protagonist awakens to find himself standing in the middle of a vast, snowy plain he doesn’t recognize. Suffering from amnesia, he remembers nothing about himself. Suddenly, he’s attacked by an insect-like creature but is saved by a beautiful girl with animal ears and a tail named Kuon. She names him Haku.
