The winter 2020 anime adaptation of Iro Aida’s manga series Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is getting some additional distribution options that have opened up. German distributor Peppermint recently set a May 5th, 2022 release for the show there on Blu-ray for the first half of it while the second set will debut on July 7th, 2022. With sets priced at 41.95 and 38.99 euros respectively, the clean opening and clean closing as extras.
With the first set out and the second set coming up in the near future, a new clip has landed where Hanako gives Yashiro an important mission!
The series has Masaomi Andou directing based on the series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Mayuki Itou is on board with the character designs while Lerche will be producing the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Megumi Ogata as Hanako-kun, Akari Kitō as Nene Yashiro, Shōya Chiba as Kou Minamoto, Yūma Uchida as Teru Minamoto, and Minako Sato as Aoi Akane.
It’s known as Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun in Japan and began in the magazine in 2014 and has seventeen volumes out as of April 2022 in Japan. It’s been getting released digitally in English by Yen Press.
The series features the opening sequence with the song “No.7” by Jibaku Shounen Band (Youji Ikuta from PENGUIN RESEARCH x Masayoshi Ooishi x ZiNG) as well as the ending theme song “Tiny Light” by Akari Kitou for streaming.
Plot Concept: “Hanako-san, Hanako-san…are you there?”
At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school’s Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls’ bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom…but the Hanako-san she meets there is nothing like she imagined!
