
A new anime adaptation is airing with the Aoashi, sometimes written as Ao Ashi, manga getting its time to shine. Announced in May 2021, the soccer manga was planned for a spring 2022 debut, and Crunchyroll will be handling it. With the series having an April 9th, 2022 debut, the official site is now bringing out its first preview of the ninth episode will arrive on June 4th, 2022 below.
This comes with some cast additions below but also the reveal that the opening theme song is “Mushin Hakusū” as performed by Alexandros while Rinne will perform the ending theme song “Blue Diary.”
The production has Akira Sato directing it based on the scripts overseen by Masahiro Yokotani. Manabu Nakatake, Toshie Kawamura, Asuka Yamaguchi, and Saki Hasegawa are on board with character designs and with Production I.G. handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Kōki Ohsuzu as Ashito Aoi, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Eisaku Ohtomo, Seiichirō Yamashita as Sōichirō Tachibana, Taku Yashiro as Keiji Togashi, Shun Horie as Kanpei Kuroda, Wataru Katō as Martis Jun Asari, Junya Enoki as Yūma Motoki, Kentarō Kumagai as Ryūichi Takeshima, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Tatsuya Fukuda, Maki Kawase as Hana Ichijō, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Nagisa Akutsu, Yuichiro Umehara as Haruhisa Kuribayashi, Hiroki Yasumoto as Nozomi Date, Reina Ueda as Anri Kaidō, Kensho Ono as Taira Nakamura, Kouki Uchiyama as Yōichi Kiriki, and Makoto Furukawa as Eita Takasugi.
The newly added cast includes:
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kenta Yoshitsune
- Mikako Komatsu as Aoi Kaneko
- Mie Sonozaki as Noriko Aoi
- Yoshiki Nakajima as Shun Aoi
The original manga from Yugo Kobayashi began in 2015 as serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits. It has twenty-three volumes out as of February 2021.

Plot Concept: Ashito Aoi, a third-year middle school student from Ehime, meets Tatsuya Fukuda, a “J Youth League” coach. Even though he’s still rough around the edges, Ashito has such amazing potential that he gets invited by coach Fukuda to participate in his team’s try-outs in Tokyo. The story of the boy who will revolutionize football in Japan begins to unfold.
