NBC Univeral Adds ‘Shakugan no Shana’ Season 3 Anime Theme Songs Streaming

2 min read

Shakugan no Shan Header 2-8The folks at NBC Universal Japan have been catching up on theme song sequences for shows that came out previously as part of their 30th anniversary. The latest is the third and final season of Shakugan no Shana. They’ve now added the opening and closing for this piece on their channel – though we’re amused that they can’t be properly embedded below because Wakanim lays a claim for it outside of Japan. Wakanim, of course, is focused on European releases but their clam impacts US viewing as well apparently.

The series most recently saw a SAVE release from Funimation on December 20th, 2016 where it’s now been priced down to $34.98 for the DVD/BD combo set that has the full twenty-four episode run done up in bilingual form.

Extras for the release include the Episode 04 Commentary, Episode 07 Commentary, Episode 14 Commentary, Episode 24 Commentary, Shakugan no Shana-tan Final Destruction, Shakugan no Shana-tan Final Destruction 2, Textless Songs, U.S. Trailer, Trailers and Promotional Videos.

Directed by Takashi Watanabe based on the series composition by Yasuko Kobayashi, Mai Otsuka served as the character designer and chief animation director. The series was animated by JC Staff.

The Japanese cast includes Rie Kugimiya as Shana, Satoshi Hino as Yūji Sakai, Akeno Watanabe as Tiamat, Aki Nakajima as Lerajie, Ayako Kawasumi as Kazumi Yoshida, Hirofumi Nojima as Hayato Ike, Hitomi Nabatame as Margery Daw and Houko Kuwashima as Rebecca Reed.

The English cast includes Cherami Leigh as Shana, Josh Grelle as Yuji Sakai, Aaron Dismuke as Orobas, Barry Yandell as Dantalion, Brad Jackson as Sabrac, Brina Palencia as Kazumi Yoshida, Brittney Karbowski as Matake Ogata, Bruce Carey as Snake, Caitlin Glass as Bel-Peol and Carli Mosier as Wilhelmina Carmel.

Plot concept: Yuji returns from near-death to lead the Crimson Denizens in a dubious plot to bring peace to the universe—but Shana isn’t fooled. In an explosive reunion, the fiery warrior faces her unlikeliest of foes while Flame Hazes from across the world join forces to ignite a war that will determine the fate of all supernatural kind.
