1st Disney+ ‘She-Hulk’ Series Trailer Arrives

Some additional casting!

We learned back in August 2019 that the Disney+ service will be bringing a She-Hulk live-action series out down the line and there’s definitely a lot of interest in how this project will come together. We previously learned in November 2019 that Jessica Gao had come on board as the showrunner for the series to work with Marvel Studios and that Kat Coiro was in negotiations to board the project as the director for the pilot and an undisclosed number of additional episodes.

As part of a larger presentation for Disney, the first trailer was revealed for the now named She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series that will arrive on Disney+ on August 17th, 2022. The trailer introduces us to a lot of characters that look to play to both the character and Hulk’s rogues gallery with some blink and you’ll miss it nods here. The motion capture done for She-Hulk herself is probably going to be the sticking point for many and understandably so as it feels not only a few years out of date but also just more plastic-y than you’d expect. We’re hoping for things to get ironed out a bit more between now and the premiere, but even if this is as good as it gets, the trailer highlights what should be some good classic She-Hulk comedy material. As a fan going back to both her time in the Fantastic Four books in the 80s and the time spent with her own comedy series from John Byrne back in the day, I’m looking forward to a good time.

He’ll join series lead Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, along with appearances by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tim Roth as The Abomination, Jameela Jamil as Titania, RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry, Josh Segarra, and Ginger Gonzaga.

The character of She-Hulk has been done both seriously and silly and has a few plans in-between. With a number of miniseries, takeovers of other series, and series of her own, she’s got an audience but has had a hard time carrying her own title for too long. One of the more interesting ones was the recent series from Charles Soule where it focused on her as a lawyer and dealing with cases involving superheroes, villains, and the like and very grounded in the law itself. That could provide quite the unique hook to expand her into various corners of the MCU.
