‘Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible’ Manga Getting TV Anime Adaptation

2 min read
Shiraishi lives a largely-unnoticed existence, until a girl named Kubo gives his social life a major boost in Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible!

One of my favorite pickups of the past year for trying out a Shonen Jump property from Viz Media was the Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible series. It comes from creator Nene Yukimori and began in October 2019 with eight volumes out in Japan so far and it just crossed the 100-chapter mark a few weeks ago. Viz Media released the first volume in print this month after picking up the digital version mid-series.

Now, it’s on track for an anime adaptation as the announcement has gone out for it. The series will be directed by Kazuomi Koga based on the scripts written and overseen by Yuya Takahashi. Yoshiko Sato is handling the character designs with PINE JAM handling the animation production.

A key visual for it was released below.

The series began on October 24th, 2029 as serialized in Weekly Young Jump. It’s the fourth property from Nene Yukimori who had Ningen ni Koi shita Oni wa Warau in 2016, an entry in the Shounen to Watashi no Jijou Anthology in 2017, and an entry in the 2018 Touken Ranbu – ONLINE – Anthology – Honmaru Ichiban! work.

Plot Concept: When Kubo sits next to Shiraishi in their first year of high school, Shiraishi’s nonexistent social skills get a boost. Speaking up in class is only the beginning for Shiraishi—soon Kubo forces him to be noticed at school, at the bookstore, and all around town. Shiraishi’s once-lackluster life isn’t so dull anymore!
