With the usual delay between the period and the reporting in place, Nielsen has updated to reveal the most-streamed shows in the US through the week ending March 6th, 2022. This period is one where Netflix basically soaked up all the big time by working with a number of large and licensed shows. It’s very light when it comes to original shows for the most part and that shows the power of some series that they do bring on and spend money on.
After topping the chart last week, Inventing Anna holds strong again this week at the top as the show that it feels like a lot of the tastemakers are talking about. At this point we also saw that Love is Blind was continuing to draw interest and Mrs Maisel was delivering the goods for Amazon. Disney+ has only Encanto on the chart during this period but it at least helped to deny Netflix a complete sweet.
Climbing onto the chart this week was Pieces of Her, which has grown a good bit since then anecdotally at least, while Vikings: Valhalla entered the chart in second place.
