The winter 2021 anime adaptation of the Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious had its second cour land in the fall of 2021 and just released a preview of an unaired episode on home video. With word that a second season is coming, a new update on the back half of the first season has arrived. Hulu recently revealed that they intend to bring it out in dubbed form on April 3rd, 2022, and that has now landed on the service. They previously released episodes via Funimation during its simulcast run and had the first half dub available already.
The series is directed by Manabu Okamoto with character designs by Kazutaka Sugiyama. Studio Bind is on board for the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yumi Uchiyama as Rudeus Greyrat, Ai Kakuma as Eris Boreas Greyrat, Konomi Kohara as Roxy Migurdia, Ai Kayano as Sylphiette, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Paul Greyrat, Hisako Kanemoto as Zenith Greyrat, Lynn as Lillia, Daisuke Namikawa as Ruijerd Superdia, and Tomokazu Sugita as Rudeus Greyrat’s former self.
The series from Rifujin na Magonote and illustrator Shirotaka is part of the imprint MF Books. The light novels began in 2014 and a manga adaptation kicked off in the same year. Seven Seas Entertainment has the rights to both and is currently releasing them.
Plot Concept: The story follows a 34-year-old man who is killed after trying to save someone from getting hit by a car. He soon finds himself reincarnated in a magical world as Rudeus Greyrat, except that he gets his whole life reset, starting as a baby.
With all of his knowledge from his previous life, and a new heaping helping of magical ability, Rudeus quickly becomes a formidable warrior ready for adventure. Oh, and he’s still a total pervert.
