Roselia is holding a training camp. That’s not unusual. What is weird is the location they’ve chosen. Why would they choose a mansion in the middle of nowhere? And what’s up with the spooky vibes? What is this…Resident Evil or something. Actually, now that I think about it, this mansion does remind me a bit of the Spencer Mansion. Is this a Resident Evil parody episode!? Yukina tells everyone to put their stuff away and regroup in the lobby. Lisa, Ako, and Yukina bump into each other a few moments later and hear a piano playing. Wait a minute, I know that tune! It’s Moonlight Sonata. Yeah, this is definitely a Resident Evil parody. Yukina suggests it’s Rinko playing the piano. It’s not though as she joins them a few seconds later. Who was playing the piano then!? Yukina concludes that it must have been Sayo and she went on ahead. They should probably reunite with her.
The girls search numerous rooms and find no luck finding Sayo. Hilariously, the Resident Evil 1 door loading scenes were used which was awesome. By random chance, Yukina pushes against a statue and a hidden door opens up behind her. As they make their way through the secret passage, they notice red spots on the ground. Is it blood!? The girls then see someone eating something on the floor. I BET IT’S A ZOMBIE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Oh wait, it’s just Sayo making a mess while eating fries. She was REALLY hungry. Gosh, she got ketchup everywhere. At least it looks like they dodged a bullet there. Although, who keeps playing the piano…
In Summary:
Not only was this a Roselia episode, but it was also a Resident Evil parody! What’s there not to love? All of the Resident Evil references were great, especially the Sayo eating fries scene being a nod to the first zombie appearance in the first game. Well done! Needless to say, I was a big fan of this episode. And on an ending note, Lisa makes the best faces when she’s scared.
