The Anohana TV series has seen a lot of distribution over the last few years with streaming and it’s had a good bit of attention in general as it deserves. It’s hard to believe that it’s been as long as it has, but the official site earlier this summer updated to reveal a new 10th-anniversary Blu-ray box set with the Ten Years After material. The set is scheduled for a December 29th, 2021 debut where it’ll be priced at 25,300 yen. It’s listed with the eleven TV episodes and the movie. It’s also going to include a 100-page booklet, a Jintan t-shirt, and a new bonus CD with the 10th-anniversary version of the “secret base” song.

While we still have a few months to go, the official site recently teased us with what the new artwork for it will be like for the set by showing off the first sketch from it. The final fully colored version has now arrived which you can see below after the sketch.

The eleven-episode series has garnered a lot of attention in the last few years since its debut and it also inspired a theatrical film that looked at events from a different perspective that added some good material to it. It’s definitely one we recommend.

This release is set with the original Japanese audio and includes the German and English dubs. French, German, Arabic, Spanish, and English subtitles are available.

Plot concept: Jinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends have become estranged after a tragic accident split them apart. Now in their high school years, a sudden surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day and come to terms with the ghosts of their past.
