With Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki setting themselves up at Netflix for a bit with several projects, the second one launched just about a year ago with the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 project. The series was planned as a two-cour run with twelve episodes for each season and the first season previously had a compilation film version announced previously. That film, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 – Sustainable Warfare is set a November 12th, 2021 release date for its limited run in a limited number of theaters.

Now, the official site has dropped a new promo for it with a focus on the lead character of Togusa, highlighting voice actor Kōichi Yamadera with this role that he’s really had decades to work with and immerse himself in with.

Property Concept: Deep into the twenty-first century, the line between man and machine has been inexorably blurred as humans rely on the enhancement of mechanical implants and robots are upgraded with human tissue. In this rapidly converging landscape, cyborg superagent Major Motoko Kusanagi is charged to track down the craftiest and most dangerous terrorists and cybercriminals, including “ghost hackers” who are capable of exploiting the human/machine interface and reprogramming humans to become puppets to carry out the hackers’ criminal ends.
