‘Star Trek Discovery’ Schedules Fourth Season Premiere

2 min read
The future of Star Trek begins to reveal itself.

The third season of Star Trek: Discovery got underway back in the fall of 2020 and it was a strong season for me as the show moved forward into the 32nd century and began to look at new things in a way that the franchise hasn’t for the longest time as it has been beholden to the TNG era far too much or looking backward to the TOS era.

We got the fourth season renewal news just after the premiere of the third season, with it naturally being on Paramount+ when it hits, and we got our first trailer for it back in April. Last month, as part of Star Trek Day, Paramount revealed a November 18th, 2021 premiere date for the season. With the show getting a panel at NYCC today, they dropped a fantastic new two-minute trailer to highlight some of what this season is going to be about and we’re definitely excited for next month.

The cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Rainsford, Doug Jones as Saru, Anthony Rapp as Stamets, James Frain as Sarek, Terry Serpico as Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as Connor, Michelle Yeoh as Georgiou, Shazad Latif as Kol, Chris Obi as T’Kuvma and Mary Chieffo as L’Rell.

Plot concept: Season four of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY finds Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery facing a threat unlike any they’ve ever encountered. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown and work together to ensure a hopeful future for all.
