One of my favorite properties going back to the fanzine days of the late 80s when I was digging into anime was the Dirty Pair series. I’d seen some of the film and OVA material, but the TV series was elusive for quite a few years before it finally made its way out on DVD in English. The series is getting some renewed attention lately and part of that is also coming through some new streaming distribution. Both Crunchyroll and RetroCrush have added the original series to their respective services so that a whole new round of fans can be converted!
Also – Nozomi Entertainment is now looking to get it dubbed with fans help as they’ve started a new Kickstarter to get it done here! With a base goal of $275,000 to get the dub done and cover the costs of it, there are a slew of reward tiers that will definitely entice fans to check out – including a voice role! There are samples for some of these like the lighted standees that look awesome (I’m already jealous!) and the stretch goals look like there’s a good number of things that can be done with it.

Plot Concept: In the 22nd-century mankind may be technologically advanced, but there are still some problems that can only be fixed by a couple of women who don’t back down from a fight! These are the adventures of Kei and Yuri, two official Trouble Consultants for the World Welfare Works Association, who use their brains, brawn, and looks to solve any problem. They call themselves the “Lovely Angels,” but because their solutions often result in chaos and mass destruction, the rest of the universe has dubbed them the “Dirty Pair”!
