With the usual delay between the period and the reporting in place, Nielsen has updated to reveal the most-streamed shows in the US through the week ending September 5th, 2021. This period is one where Netflix basically soaked up all the big time by working with a number of large and licensed shows. It’s very light when it comes to original shows for the most part and that shows the power of some series that they do bring on and spend money on.
On the main chart, Clickbait continues grabbing the attention as it’s drawing in a lot of people while we see Manifest off the main chart now. Money Heist comes in at a far second place but it does well overall. Hulu grabs two slots with some of their very popular shows that have been getting a lot of media attention while Disney+ is still doing well with its What If series.
On the licensed side, Manifest is still strong there and there’s a lot of familiar titles just nudging around a bit from week to week because of the sheer number of episodes that keep them charting.
