The upcoming live-action adaptation of The Sandman on Netflix has been highly anticipated, especially after we got the behind-the-scenes piece earlier this year with Neil Gaiman taking us through some of the sets and pieces. Now, as part of their TUDUM event today, Netflix has revealed the first brief teaser for the series that gives us a look at some of the key elements to it. It’s still undated but if they’re giving us a promo now, we’ll expect this might be a December 2021 series. Check out the teaser below!
The main cast for the series includes:

“For the last thirty-three years, the Sandman characters have breathed and walked around and talked in my head. I’m unbelievably happy that now, finally, they get to step out of my head and into reality,” said Gaiman in a statement in 2019. “I can’t wait until the people out there get to see what we’ve been seeing as Dream and the rest of them take flesh, and the flesh belongs to some of the finest actors out there.”
He added, “This is astonishing, and I’m so grateful to the actors and to all of The Sandman collaborators — Netflix, Warner Bros., DC, to Allan Heinberg and David Goyer, and the legions of crafters and geniuses on the show — for making the wildest of all my dreams into reality.”
Comic concept: In PRELUDES & NOCTURNES, an occultist attempting to capture Death to bargain for eternal life traps her younger brother Dream instead. After his seventy-year imprisonment and eventual escape, Dream, also known as Morpheus, goes on a quest for his lost objects of power. On his arduous journey Morpheus encounters Lucifer, John Constantine, and an all-powerful madman. This book also includes the story “The Sound of Her Wings,” which introduces us to the pragmatic and perky goth girl Death.
