The Summer Ghost project that is illustrator loundraw’s directorial debut and part of his plan to keep expressing his style of artwork in varied ways has gotten a new update. Set for a November 12th, 2021 debut, we previously had the main visual and a teaser promo. Now, the official site has updated to reveal a new key visual and that there’s a manga adaptation on the way and two novels to complement it as well.

The film has Chiaki Kobayashi as Tomoya Sugisaki and has now added Miyuri Shimabukuro as Aoi Harukawa, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ryō Kobayashi, and Rina Kawaei as Ayane Satō.

Based on the story by loundraw, it’s written by Hirotaka Adachi with loundraw handling the designs and Flat Studio handling the animation for it.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: Tomoya, Aoi, and Ryō are high school students who met online. An urban legend speaks of a “summer ghost,” a spirit girl who appears when fireworks are set off.

Tomoya cannot live the life he envisioned for himself. Aoi cannot find her place in the world. Ryō has his once shining future suddenly pulled away. Each has their own reason for needing to meet the summer ghost. On a summer night when life and death cross paths, where will each of their emotions take them?
