A new project is lined up for the summer that will definitely feel like a summer series going by some of its design with Aquatrope of White Sand. With it making a July 8th, 2021 premiere, the series has moved through its first cour and is readying things for its second act. That includes a new promotional video that comes in at a surprising three-minute-long as well as an appealing new key visual
The series is directed by Toshiya Shinohara based on the series composition by Yuuko Kakihara. Yuki Akiyama is on board for the character designs that were created by U35. P.A. Works will be handling animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Miku Itō as Kukuru Misakino
- Rikako Aida as Fuuka Miyazawa
- Azumi Waki as Tsukimi Teruya
- Lynn as Karin Kudaka
- Shimba Tsuchiya as Kai Nakamura
- Yōhei Azakami as Kūya Yakamashi
- Hiroshi Yanaka as Kukuru’s grandfather
Newly announced cast includes:
- Mikako Komatsu as Kaoru Shimabukuro
- Kiyono Yasuno as Akari Maeda
- Nao Toyama as Marina Yonekura
- Yusuke Nagano as Eiji Higa
- Masaki Terasoma as Akira Hoshino
- Satoshi Hino as Tetsuji Suwa
- Shuuhei Sakaguchi as Bondo Garandо
ARCANA PROJECT will perform the opening theme song “Tayutae, Nana-iro” while Mia REGINA will perform the ending theme song “Tsukiumi no Yurikago.”

Plot Concept: Taking place at Gama Gama Aquarium, a small aquarium in Okinawa an hour’s bus ride from Naha, Kukuru Misakino is an 18-year-old high school student who works there. And she knows about the “secret” of the aquarium: sometimes you can see mysterious things. One day Kukuru meets Fuuka, standing in front of a water tank with flowing hair and a tear rolling down her cheek. Fuuka has given up on her dream of becoming an idol and she has run away from Tokyo to Okinawa. Wanting to find a place to belong, Fuuka earnestly asks to work at the aquarium. The anime follows Kukuru and Fuuka as they deal with the issues of the secret of the aquarium and a looming crisis of its possible closure
