‘The Duke of Death and His Maid’ Anime Getting Sequel Work

A new anime is in our future as the manga for The Duke of Death and His Maid, known as Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid is getting the nod. With the show making a July 4th, 2021 debut, the season wrapped up today and with that came the news at the end that a sequel work is in production. No details were given about the plan for it just yet but that should be coming soon. They released a commercial spot to highlight it below.

The series has Yoshiki Yamakawa directing it based on the series composition by Hideki Shirane. Michiru Kuwabata is handling the character designs with JC Staff working on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Natsuki Hanae as the Duke of Death
  • Ayumi Mano as Alice
  • Houchu Ohtsuka as Rob
  • Inori Minase as Viola
  • Wakana Kuramochi as Caph
  • Hiroshi Kamiya as Zain
  • Yūma Uchida as Walter

The series features the opening theme song “Mangetsu to Silhouette no Yoru” will be performed by Natsuki Hanae and Ayumi Mano while the ending theme song “Nocturne” by Mano.

The adaptation is based on the manga by Koharu Inoue which is serialized in Sunday Web Every. It began in 2017 and has eleven volumes out as of the announcement. The manga is unlicensed in English.

Plot Concept: The Duke of Death is cursed to steal the life from any living thing that he touches. He is accompanied by his maid Alice, who enjoys teasing him, but is the only remaining person devoted to him.
