It’s time to head back to the world of Hakuoki as a new OVA series is coming up soon. The new project has gotten a decent update today where we got a new key visual to the right and a 30-second promo below. The first OVA is set for a November 13th, 2021 streaming debut in Japan as well.
The three-episode OVA series will be coming out on home video over the next few months while streaming earlier. It’s being directed by Osamu Yamasaki with character designs by Atsuko Nakajima as they adapt Yone Kazuki’s original work. It’s again being animated by Studio DEEN.
The Japanese cast includes:

- Shinichiro Miki as Toshizō Hijikata
- Showtaro Morikubo as Sōji Okita
- Kousuke Toriumi as Hajime Saitō

Property Concept: Chizuru Yukimura has come to Kyoto looking for her father, a doctor who has gone missing. While there, she witnesses a fight between an Oni and the Shinsengumi. Taking her into custody, the Shinsengumi debates on what to do with Chizuru, when they discover that she is the daughter of the doctor for whom they are also looking. The Shinsengumi then take Chizuru along on their search after the missing doctor, from adventure to adventure.
