Originally developed as a Nintendo DS game back in 2007 in Japan and seeing mobile adaptations in the years that followed, the Final Remix version of The World Ends With You RPG arrived for the Nintendo Switch in 2018. As part of the spring 2021 season, Funimation handled the simulcast and they’re now digging into the English dub side of the production.
The dub has Kyle Phillips set as the ADR director for it with Jessica Sluys handling the scripts from the prep by James Baker and supervision by Bonny Clinkenbeard. It’s set to premiere with the first episode on September 17th, 2021.
The English cast includes:
- Ben Balmaceda as Neku
- Morgan Lauré as Shiki

The series has Kazuya Ichikawa on board to direct with Midori Gotou handling the scripts at Sanzigen. It’s worth noting as well that Takeharu Ishimoto is composing the music for it, having done the game music. DOMERICA and Shin-Ei Animation are handling the production. Tetsuya Nomura and Gen Kobayashi are credited for the character designs.
The Japanese cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Neku, Anna Hachimine as Shiki, Subaru Kimura as Beat, Ayana Taketatsu as Rhyme, and Ryouhei Kimura as Joshua.
