The third season under the name Date A Live III landed as part of the winter 2019 season and after some spinoff material has come through, we’re now lining up for the Date A Live IV project. The first teaser has launched awhile ago that at the time indicated that the new season is set for an October 2021 debut. With the usual “various reasons” explanation now given, the show has been pushed back to an undetermined 2022 premiere date, presumably because of COVID-19 related production delays that continue to quietly impact a lot of productions.

The new promo comes in at just a minute with no vocal material but the animation continues to look beautiful. Check it out below.

Jun Nakagawa will be directing it based on the scripts by Fumihiko Shimo. Naoto Nakamura is working on the character designs with production set to be done at Geek Toys.

The Japanese cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shido Itsuka, Marina Inoue as Tohka Yatogami, Misuzu Togashi as Origami Tobiichi, Ayana Taketatsu as Kotori Itsuka, Iori Nomizu as Yoshino, Asami Sanada as Kurumi Tokisaki, Maaya Uchida as Kaguya Yamai, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Yuzuru Yamai, Minori Chihara as Miku Izayoi, and Ayumi Mano as the “Seventh Spirit” Natsumi.

The property has twenty-two volumes of the light novels released with it wrapping up in March 2020.

Property Concept: In a world devastated by mysterious Spatial Quakes, Shidoh isn’t what you’d expect in a hero. He’s an average Joe who gets bossed around by his adorable little sister and mocked by the popular girls at his school. You’d definitely pick him last for dodgeball, but when it comes to saving the planet from imminent destruction, Shidoh’s got one thing going for him: intergalactic hotties can’t keep their hands off him! When the secret to stopping the Spatial Quakes turns out to be romancing the extraterrestrial Spirits responsible for all the chaos, Shidoh the loveable loser becomes the hero of all humanity. For every Spirit he makes out with, mankind breathes a little bit easier. Kiss the girls – save the world. That name of the game is driving the space babes crazy, and nobody does it better than Shidoh!
