Amazon Prime Streams ‘Yatterman Night’ Anime Series

Yatterman is back!

Yatterman Night Crunchyroll HeaderAmazon Prime has added a new series to their availability slate, though this one is tied to the J-Edge subscription, with the 2008 Yatterman Night property. That service is just $3.99 per month after the trial and the series is available in its original Japanese language with English subtitles that you can find here.

The property is based on the original Yatterman series that came out in 1977, which ran for a few years with 108 episodes total. This was remade back in 2008 and done in sixty episodes, which also had two specials made for it as well as a an animated and live action film the following year.

The series stars Eri Kitamura as Doronjo, Hiroaski Hirata as Boyacky, Kenta Miyake as Tonzura and a comedian named Hori as Dokurobeh. Also revealed was that SCREEN mode will be doing the opening song, Limit Dreamer, while Sphere will be performing the ending song, Passion Continue. The series, part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the Time Bokan franchise from Tatsunoko,and is set for twelve standard length episodes.

Plot concept: Long, long ago, a pair of heroes called the Yatterman faced off against the mischievous Doronbow Gang, led by the sexy villainess Doronjo. Now, years later, the Yatter Kingdom is protected by the new Yatterman. But the mysterious new Yatterman have forced the Yatter people into labor, and unrest runs rampant throughout the kingdom. In the spirit of her predecessor, a young new Doronjo reforms the Doronbow Gang in rebellion against the Yatterman.
