2 min read
Legendary half-vampire, half-human vampire hunter Blade is tracking Deacon Frost, a very powerful and influential vampire who killed his mother and who heads Existence, a secretive vampire organization that operates in Southeast Asia.

Originally getting broadcast in Japan in 2011 before making its way over later in English in North America, Sony Pictures Television has now brought the first episode of Marvel Anime: Blade to the Throwback Toons channel on YouTube, which you can see below. It looks like they do add new episodes fairly regularly and there are several episodes of Marvel Anime: Wolverine on there as well as Marvel Anime: Iron Man and Marvel Anime: X-Men.

The series was directed by Mitsuyuki Masuhara based on the series composition by Kenta Fukasaku. Cindy H. Yamauchi worked on the character designs for the series with Madhouse handling the animation director.

The Japanese cast includes Akio Ohtsuka as Blade, Hiroki Touchi as Lucius Isaac, Maaya Sakamoto as Makoto, Masato Hagiwara as Kikyo Mikage, Osamu Saka as Noah Van Helsing, and Tsutomu Isobe as Deacon Frost.

The English cast includes Harold Perrineau as Blade, Christopher Smith as Lucius Isaac, JB Blanc as Deacon Frost, Kim Mai Guest as Makoto, Steven Jay Blum as Kikyo Mikage, and Troy Baker as Noah Van Helsing.

Plot Concept: Erik Brooks was half-man, half-vampire after his mother Carol was attacked by a vampire named Deacon Frost. He sought assistance from Noah Van Helsing and over time, vampires worldwide fear him as the “Daywalker” or “Blade”. He investigates a vampire organization in Asia called “Existence” starting from Japan all the way to Southeast Asia.
