A middle school student and her pals join a club that meets at an abandoned tea ceremony room for no purpose, until they stir up some wild schemes.

Yuru Yuri San Hai

One of my favorite properties of the past decade is the Yuru Yuri series, which we saw get some release through NIS America previously. The show is now getting some new streaming distribution as the folks at Tubi have added the series to its slate of titles here. It’s just the first season with its twelve episode run in its original Japanese language with English subtitles, but it’s a great series to take in if you missed it over the past ten years since its debut.

Plot concept: Right after starting middle school, Akari Akaza joins the Amusement Club which is composed solely by her two childhood friends, Kyouko Toshinou and Yui Funami. Chinatsu Yoshikawa, Akaza’s classmate, becomes a member after finding out about the dissolution of the Tea Club.

The Amusement Club, situated at the tea room facility since the Tea Club disbanded, has no clear purpose, being free for the girls to do whatever they want.
