Sample the first three episodes!

RagnarokWe haven’t written about the Rangarok: The Animation series since way back in 2017 when it landed on Crunchyroll for awhile. The new update on the property, out of the blue, is that Funimation has added the first three episodes to their YouTube channel for streaming in its original Japanese language with English subtitles. The full series is streaming on their site but this could tempt some folks to check it out more, especially if they’re familiar with the original work. Check the episodes out below!

With Myung-Jin Lee as the chief director, it was directed by Seiji Kishi based on the series composition by Hideki Mitsui. Kenji Shinohara served as the character designer while Toshi Shishikura was the chief animation director with G&G Entertainment handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Daisuke Sakaguchi as Roan, Nana Mizuki as Yufa, Aya Hisakawa as Takius, Halko Momoi as Maya, Kazuya Nakai as Iruga, Minako Arakawa as Judia, and Takehito Koyasu as Keough.

Plot Concept: A great evil sweeps across the realm, and the young swordsman Roan, along with his life-long companion Yufa, must face it head on! As the two friends travel toward their destiny, they are joined by an ever-growing cast of heroes. The path they travel is rife with monsters, magic, and danger, but where there’s a will—there’s a way! Lessons lurk in the darkness, and the journey starts now!
