The Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Animation anime series has its home video releases handled by NBC Universal Japan and they’re going for a box set route for it. The show was being done as a series of three box sets with about 16 episodes per set where each set is priced at 24,000 yen each for the regular edition and 26,000 yen each for the limited editions. Recently, a box set release for the first season has been set with its 76-episode run where it’ll arrive on August 27th, 2021 priced at 42,000 yen. It’ll be done across thirteen discs and retain all the extras from the previous sets. And that’s now been updated to reveal the main cover artwork for it below!
The show has Takahiro Ikezoe directing it with Kento Shimoyama handling the series composition. Yuka Aono is working on the character designs for it.
The Japanese cast includes Ayane Sakura as Hayato Hayasugi, Manami Numakura as Akita Oga, Rie Murakawa as Tsuranuki Daimonyama, Yuji Ueda as Shashot, Aana Taketatsu as Azusa Ueda, Tomokazu Sugita as Hokuto Hayasugi, Sora Amamiya as Futaba Mihara, and Hikaru Midorikawa as Shinpei Izumi.
Plot Concept: Hayato and other children will serve as conductors to pilot the Shinkalion. The children must work together with the adults of the “Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute” (SUEI) to defeat a monster that looks like a jet black bullet train.
