With some good sales in the trade formats for awhile now, Peter Hogan’s comic series Resident Alien stepped the live-action side of things. With the show getting a second season next year, the first season is now making the leap to home video, something not all shows from streaming services and smaller cable outfits get. The SyFy series is part of the Universal Pictures family, however, so they’ve set a September 21st, 2021 release for the set. It’ll be in English only with English subtitles priced at $44.98 clocking in at 455 minutes. No extras are currently solicited for it.

Syfy brought the series out earlier this year with Alan Tudyk in the leading role. Other series regulars so far include Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (People of Earth), and Levi Fiehler (Mars).

Plot Concept: Based on the Dark Horse comic, Syfy’s Resident Alien is a murder mystery sci-fi dramedy that follows Harry, an alien played by Alan Tudyk (Rogue One, Firefly) that crash lands on Earth and passes himself off as a small-town human doctor. Arriving with a secret mission to kill all humans, Harry starts off living a simple life… but things get a bit rocky when he’s roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world. As he does so, he begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and asking the big life questions like: “Are human beings worth saving?” and “Why do they fold their pizza before eating it?” Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley) and Levi Fiehler (Mars) also star as the residents of Patience, Colorado.
