The fifth season of My Hero Academia landed today and that’s come with a bit of news about the feature film side. The series has aired 88-episodes across its four-season run so far and had two feature films. We got the confirmation back in November 2020 that the third feature film was coming and more recently a title with My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission.
Set with a premiere date of August 6th, 2021 in Japan, the official site continues to find ways to keep fans engaged and looking for more information about it. The newest update comes in the form of some new cast announcements! The additions for this have six more joining with:
- Mariya Ise as Belos
- Junya Enoki as Sir Pentas
- Yuichiro Umehara as Shidero
- Shogo Sakata as Leviathan
- Hirofumi Nojima as Allen Kay
- Youko Honna as Claire Voyance
We also have a new theatrical trailer out for the film that clocks in at nearly two-minutes and highlights Humanize.
We also learned recently that Megumi Hayashibara has joined the project to take on the role of Pino, the partner for Rody as previously revealed to be played by Ryo Yoshizawa.

The film will be directed by Kenji Nagasaki based on the screenplay by Yousuke Kuroda. Yoshihiko Umakoshi is on board as the character designer and chief animation director with it being produced at BONES.

Originally starting back in the summer of 2014, after creator Kouhei Horikoshi Barrage series ended, My Hero Academia is one of the more well-received books in the English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Horikoshi received a Tezuka Award Honorable Mention in 2006 after publishing several short stories in Akamaru Jump. His first serialized work was Oumagadoki Doubutsuen back in 2010.
Plot Concept: It’s an exciting age of heroes, where most people develop supernatural abilities known as Quirks. Bright-eyed kids like Izuku Midoriya—Deku for short—dream of the day they become champions of the people. There’s just one little problem standing in Deku’s way. In a world full of heroes, he’s Quirkless. Crushed, but not down for the count, this superhero-fanboy dedicates his time to studying the pros in hopes that he, too, can join a prestigious high school for heroes. In the face of despair, Deku’s courage catches the eye of his ultimate idol, the symbol of justice known as All Might! With special training from the big guy himself, Deku and the talented first-years of the academy may finally have a shot at achieving their dreams. But these amateurs are put to the test of a lifetime when routine training becomes a battle against real villains!
