A new way to see the film!

With the theatrical release done for Hirunehime -Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari-, which is being localized as Napping Princess -The Story of Unknown Me, GKIDS previously set the home video release for the project. The film came out on January 30th, 2018 with a DVD/BD combo set. It’s also getting a DVD-only release and they’ll be priced at $26.99 and $16.99 respectively.

With that having happened a few years back now, GKIDS is getting some new streaming distribution for it set. The subtitled version and dubbed version are both now available for streaming on Tubi.

Kenji Kamiyama wrote and directed it while Satoko Morikawa is on board as the character designer with Atsuko Sasaki serving as the animation director. It’s being produced by Signal-MD and obviously being distributed by Warner Bros. Japan.

The Japanese cast includes Mitsuki Takahata as Kokone Morikawa, Shinnosuke Mitsushima as Morio, Arata Furuta as Watanabe, Tomoya Maeno as Kijita, Hideki Takahashi as Isshin Shijima, Rie Kogimiya as Joy and Yosuke Eguchi as Momotarō.

Recorded at NYAV Post, the English dub was directed by Stephanie Sheh and Michael Sinterniklaas. The English cast includes Brina Palencia as Kokone Morikawa/Ancien, Chris Niosi as Morio, Doug Erholtz as Momotaro Morikawa, Lex Woutas as Ichirou Watanabe, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Joy.

Plot Concept: The story of the film is set in the Kojima area of Okayama Prefecture in 2020, just before the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games begin. It focuses on the relationship between the protagonist girl Kokone Morikawa and her father. The film also features a robot called “Hearts” that can transform from a sidecar.
