The Kiniro Mosaic manga series from Yui Hara wrapped up in March 2020 where it revealed that a feature anime film is in the works. We learned last summer that the film will be called Kiniro Mosaic: Thank You!! and then this past January we learned that the film has gotten plans for a summer 2021 debut in Japan. With an August 20th, 2021 debut revealed recently, the official site has now updated with a new trailer for the film that clocks in at 90-seconds and shows the gang on their trip to Kyoto.

The film has Munenori Nawa directing it based on the screenplay by Yuniko Ayana. Kazuyuki Ueda is on board for the character designs with Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ working on the animation production.

The first series, produced by Studio Gokumi with Showgate, was directed by Motoki Tanaka. It was animated at Studio Gokumi with Yuniko Ayana handling the scripting duties while Kazuyuki Ueda worked the character design.

The first and second seasons have been licensed and released by Sentai Filmworks.

Plot concept: The story begins with Oomiya Shinobu, a 15-year-old, seemingly pure Japanese girl who actually did a homestay in Great Britain. Even after coming back to Japan, she still misses her time overseas. One day, an airmail letter arrives from Alice, the girl in Shinobu’s host family in Great Britain. The letter reads: Shinobu, I’m coming to Japan! The Japanese/British girls’ mixed comedy follows the lives of Shinobu, Alice, and other girls from both Japan and Great Britain.
