The Sailor Moon Crystal anime series has been around for quite a few years now but it’s expanding to some new territory. With the two feature films having gotten streaming through Netflix, the TV series is now set to make its debut on the service on July 1st, 2021. It’ll presumably be at least the original Japanese language and English dub tracks but we’ll see if they’re able to expand on that when it arrives..

The first two seasons were directed by Munehisa Sakai at Toei Animation with Yuji Kobayashi doing the scripts. Yuki Sako worked on the character designs while Yasuharu Takanashi served as the composer. Art direction was done by Takashi Kurahashi and Yumi Hosaka.

The third season was directed by Chiaki Kon. The character designer position changed as well with Akira Takahashi taking on those duties after working as an episode animation director for the previous season. Yuki Kobayashi remained on board in charge of scripts for the series.

The cast for the show includes Kotono Mitsuishi as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon, Hisako Kanemoto as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury, Rina Satou as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, Ami Koshimizu as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter, Shizuka Itou as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus, Ryou Hirohashi as Luna, Kenji Nojima as Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba, Junko Minagawa as Haruka Tenou/Sailor Uranus, Sayaka Ohara as Michiru Kaioh/Sailor Neptune, Yukiyo Fujii as Hotaru, Tomoe/Sailor Saturn, Hikari Yono as Kaolinite, Takuya Kirimoto as Professor Tomoe, Takaya Hashi as Pharaoh 90, Yuki Nagaku as Mimete, Chiaki Takahashi as Eudial, Rina Hon’izumi as Viluy, Naomi Ōzora as Tellu and Umeka Shouji as Cyprine.

Property concept: Usagi Tsukino is a second-year middle school girl who is a little clumsy and a crybaby, but she is full of energy. One day, she meets Luna, a black cat with a crescent moon on her forehead, and she transforms into Sailor Moon, a sailor-uniformed pretty guardian of love and justice! As a chosen guardian of justice, Usagi seems to have a mission to find the Illusionary Silver Crystal with the other guardians and to protect the princess.

Meanwhile, the queen of the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl, also sends minions to the town where Usagi lives to obtain the Illusionary Silver Crystal, which has immense power. This causes strange events to unfold….

Can Sailor Moon really find the Illusionary Silver Crystal with the other Sailor guardians, and protect the princess…!?
