The World Stars season draws to a close and it was definitely welcome to reconnect with this motley crew again even if just for a little while. Here, we get Czecha making the big announcement that she’s changing her name to Czechia as part of all the changes going on. It’s amusing to see the reactions of others as this unfolds, notably with Austria talking about the problems in being confused with Australia. Meanwhile, the Italians that we’re dealing with have a rat problem and that leads to some time with cute cats being brought into play and it just made me miss Nekotalia or whatever it was called a few seasons ago. We get some decent time here with them and Japan along with Estonia as it’s mostly just folks around and becoming interested in festivals for the moment. It’s just nonsensical silliness but it works nicely enough to help close out the season with fluff.

In Summary:
This season didn’t have any real overall storyline to it though it touched upon some of our characters more which was welcome. The bits with Italy and the various iterations were fun as always and the entire industrial revolution storyline had a lot of silliness that worked well. But it was mostly just fluff again when it really does need to be a little sharper around the edges than it is. It’s been so defanged over the years when it could have some really fun bite to it that it’s almost disappointing, even if I do enjoy reconnecting with these goofballs every few years.
