The worlds of manga and American comics don’t collide too often when you get down to it but there are always interesting times when they do. Kodansha’s Evening magazine has revealed that it’s launching a new Superman series with the June 22nd, 2021 installment with Superman vs. Meshi: Superman no Hitori Meshi, aka Superman vs. Food: Superman Dining Alone
The serialization comes from Kai Kitago handling the art while Satoshi Miyakawa is handling the script for it.
With food stories being fun and accessible for a lot of people these days, it’s an amusing and natural crossover and provides an outsider’s perspective as they come to love more of Japanese cuisine.
Plot Concept: The story will center around the daily pastime of the strongest man on Earth, who can hear the growling of stomachs throughout Japan at lunchtime with his superhuman hearing.
