Warner Archive Schedules 2nd ‘Pennyworth’ Season DVD & Blu-ray Releases

The series could see a move to HBO Max.

The first season of Pennyworth was a big move for Epix that paid off well as it did solid numbers for the service and had a second season green-lit pretty quickly overall. Personally, it was one of the best series of the last few years for me, especially with a fantastic opening sequence. That said, I didn’t like Epix enough to pay for it so I’ve been waiting for digital-purchase options for it as I did not need another streaming service.

While waiting for that to hit the right price for me, the home video release side is definitely becoming tantalizing. Warner Archive has revealed a July 13th, 2021 release for the series with separate DVD and Blu-ray editions coming for it. It’s priced at $29.95 for both formats with each set being a two-disc set.

The cast includes Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Emma Paetz as Martha Kane, Polly Walker as Peggy Sykes, and Jessica Ellerby as The Queen.

Plot Concept: Pennyworth is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s billionaire father, in 1960’s London.
