‘Aquaman’ Sequel Gets Title

2 min read
The inevitable sequel is titled!

A sequel to Aquaman was a given considering its $1.1 billion theatrical run and way back in 2019 Warner Bros. revealed a December 16th, 2022 release date for the untitled sequel, hoping to catch lightning in a bottle again – but giving it enough time to be put together right.

With James Wan back to direct the sequel, particularly since The Trench off-shoot horror film from the original was put to rest for the time being, we’re finally starting to see a little bit of information. The film should be going into production later this year to meet its release date next year and it looks like Wan revealed the title on his Instagram with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

With Wan directing, it’s based on the screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick with Jason Momoa being involved in the overall story concept.

The cast includes Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta. Additoinal casting includes Pilou Asbaek in a supporting role.

Original concept: Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt.
