Netflix Announces ‘Make My Day’ Original Anime Feature Film

Another new original project being lined up.

The continuing expansion beyond known name properties is one of the more exciting parts of seeing what Netflix can fund when it comes to some of the creatives out of Japan for anime. A new one announced today as part of GeekedWeek is Make My Day, a feature film that’s adapting the original story by Yasuo Ohtagaki. Ohtagaki has been doing some great stuff over the years that people like myself love such as Moonlight Mile and the recent Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt project.

This new film doesn’t have a date yet but it will be directed by Makoto Honda, his first feature directorial work, with 5 Inc. handling the animation and character designs.

Plot Concept: On a cold planet of ice and snow, mysterious creatures suddenly have appeared from the dark underground and have begun to attack the inhabitants. Can humanity survive the terror lurking beyond the horizon?
