The month of May has come to a close and it finished out with some very fun shows that launched. June has plenty coming up as well as we get to work through more Bad Batch but also get the debut of Loki on Disney+ and a slew of other projects.
Current Netflix queue: I Am Woman, Rebecca, Cool Hand Luke, The Dig, Shadow and Bone, Kominsky Method S3, Lucifer S5B
HBO Max queue: David Bowie: The Last Five Years, Westworld S3, Greenland, Zack Snyders Justice League, The Head, Bright Young Things
Hulu queue: Das Boot, Swing Things, I Kill Giants
This week had me wrap up pretty much all of my primetime big network shows and since I don’t add anything there from the summer, it’s time to start wrapping up a few other areas as well. What that leaves me with are things like The CW Arrowverse shows and whatever iteration of The Walking Dead is on.
When the Watchmen TV series came to HBO I didn’t have it at the time and then when I got HBO Max I was waiting to watch it with my viewing partners. I ended up wrapping up on this show during the week and it was a really good ride. I’m glad I got separated from the hype of the weekly experience and basically did it an episode a night to savor each piece of the story but get the whole in a really good way. There are a lot of really fun things to this and I’m glad to see how it worked from the graphic novel than the movie – even as a fan of the movie..
This week had me starting up with the back half of season five of Lucifer that just arrived and while only two episodes in, I’m definitely enjoying it. Haysbert is perfect as God and he reminds me of the cat that rocks out meme thing with the kind of satisfied expression he has on his face most of the time. The group dynamic continues to be great and seeing everyone meet God that realizes who he is works out beautifully, though for Detective Dan it’s probably the scariest moment of his life.
I’m also slowly making progress with The Head since it’s just a limited series and definitely feeds a certain kind of fun that I like with mysteries and murder in the antarctic!
In catching up on older things that I’ve got in my collection that I’ve revisited while working while trying to avoid streaming so as to not use up my data cap, it’s an odd mix this week. Over the course of the week, I’ve background watched:
- The Expanse Season 2
