Netflix ‘Eden’ Anime Series Debuts With Language Options

The original anime series Eden that Netflix has was announced back in October 2019 and we’ve had just a few updates for it since then. The show was originally planned for the fall 2020 season but was pushed back due to the pandemic now to a May 27th, 2021 premiere. With that in mind, we now can check out the language options for it. The series is available in its original Japanese language as well as dubs in German, English, Spanish, and French. Subtitle options include English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, as well as Japanese closed captions.

Set for a four-episode run, the English cast for the show via producer Justin Leach with:

  • Ruby Rose Turner as Sara
  • Neil Patrick Harris as Zero
  • Rosario Dawson as A37
  • David Tennant as E92
  • J.P. Karliak as S566
  • Cassandra Lee Morris as Zurich
  • Julie Nathanson as Geneva

The four-episode series has Yasuhiro Irie directing based on the scripts by Kimiko Ueno. Toshiro Kawamoto and Christophe Ferreira are working on the character designs with Qubic Pictures and CGCG working on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Marika Kōno as Sara, Kentaro Ito as E92, Kyoko Hikami as A37, and Kōichi Yamadera as Zero. The new additions include Tarusuke Shingaki as S566, Yūki Kuwahara as Zurich, and Yuko Kaida as Geneve.

Plot Concept: The upcoming sci-fi fantasy series Eden is set thousands of years in the future, where a city known as “Eden 3” is inhabited solely by robots whose former masters vanished a long time ago. On a routine assignment, two farming robots accidentally awaken a human baby girl from stasis questioning all they were taught to believe — that humans were nothing more than a forbidden ancient myth. Together, the two robots secretly raise the child in a safe haven outside Eden.
