The tragedies of war are coming to light and remain harder to hide now more than ever. The beauty of the Earth becomes tainted with each new war. But in the shadows of the cruelty, there is life flourishing and yearning to break free. In Rangers of the Divide, Megan Huang creates a fascinating environment out of the downfall of man. Each dragon has their own stunning design while still blending in with the world around them. A green Earth that seems to be impossible for current standards. But this dream can only be a dream and war creeps back into the hearts of man.

War has crept into society and all rangers are called upon to the front lines to protect humanity. Only a group of rangers cadets are there to hold the line between war and the remaining sanctuaries. These greenhorns must rely on Commander Knight, the only experienced ranger left. It plays with the idea of having a group of unlikely misfits learning to work together to survive. The only problem with this scenario is that only two characters are taking an active role. Maybe all these two characters are the only ones that need to have a role moving forward.

The weight of the world falls on the shoulders of two characters. Commander Knight carries knowledge and wisdom that make him a significant player in this world. But in order for that to come to fruition, his role needs to be expanded rather soon. The only other character to carry a candle to Knight is cadet Elsie. She’s still part of the pact but she takes steps to survive in the world where they have been abandoned.

In Summary:
Megan Huang’s debut starts off slow but has the potential of becoming a grand spectacle as she delves into a war-torn world in future issues. She paints a majestic picture with her lively background. These backgrounds create a reason why this world needs to be expanded upon. Her characters need a bit of extra push to feel alive. Most of them don’t have a mind of their own and are similar to genetic character models. They need time to grow but with the direction that this series is going, they’re going to be left in the dusk.
