‘RE-MAIN’ Original Anime Series Sets Premiere With New Updates

A new original work is on the way from MAPPA this year with RE-MAIN, bringing us the world of water polo to the anime world. We learned about the project earlier this year and got a lot of updates for it. Now, the official site has rolled out a really great new key visual below along with three more cast additions and the reveal of a July 3rd, 2021 debut for it.

The project has Kiyoshi Matsuda directing with Masafumi Nishida, who is co-creator and handling the scripts and serving as chief director. Aori Fujika working on the character designs which are being adapted by Shiho Tanaka. MAPPA is on board for the animation.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Yūto Uemura as Minato Kiyomizu
  • Kōtarō Nishiyama as Eitarō Oka
  • Subaru Kimura Jō Jōjima
  • Lynn as Chinu Kawakubo
  • Sōma Saitō as Shūgo Amihama
  • Makoto Furukawa as Takekazu Ejiri
  • Tasuku Hatanaka as Yutaka Babayaro Inomata
  • Daisuke Hirose as Yoshiharu Ushimado

Newly added cast includes:

  • Taku Yashiro as Keita Kakihana
  • Yūma Uchida as Riku Momosaki
  • Shun Miyazato as Kōki Toguchi

Plot Concept: The anime’s story centers on Minato, a boy who stopped playing water polo due to a certain incident in the winter of his third middle school year. He picks the sport back up again with a new team when he starts in high school, but the fledgling team runs into many problems.
