With a mobile game out in summer 2017 in Japan, the anime adaptation of the Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine property has come and gone with both its broadcast in Japan and its home video release there and here by Sentai Filmworks. Now, the property is getting a new adaptation with a live-action project set to debut on July 7th, 2021 on TV Tokyo.
The title is listed as a partial thing at the moment with Hachigatsu wa Yoru no 〇〇〇〇 de where the blanks are being guessed on by fans who will win autographed balls by the cast according to ANN. No staff or cast have been revealed yet for the project.
Susumu Kudo directed the anime series based on the series composition by Jin Tanaka. Takayuki Noguchi is on board to handle the character designs and TMS Entertainment is working on the animation production.

Plot Concept: Tsubasa Arihara loves baseball so much, she actually started her high school’s baseball club! But passion alone won’t keep a club alive, so it’s up to her to recruit as many all-star players as she can. Some potential recruits have never played before while others have returned to the game thanks to Tsubasa’s love for the sport, and together they’ll form a team united in love for the game as much as their growing friendship. But whether they win or lose, one thing is for sure: every game they play together is sure to be a home run!
