DMM Pictures Reveal’s 2nd ‘7SEEDS’ Blu-ray Anime Release Packaging

The anime adaptation of the 7SEEDS manga from Yumi Tamura saw release with its first half in 2019 and its second half in 2020 on Netflix. DMM Pictures is handling the home video releases in Japan and they’ve now set a pretty good schedule for it overall. The twenty-four-episode series is having its first and second parts released separately on Blu-ray where they’re priced at 28,000 yen each. The first set arrives on January 27th, 2021 while the second arrives on April 28th, 2021. With the second set up in a couple of days, they’ve now rolled out the full packaging spread sample for it.

The series has Yukio Takahashi directing based on the series composition by Touko Machida. Youko Satou is handling the character designs with GONZO handling the animation production.

Mone Kamishiraishi will be handling the opening theme song for it with “From the Seeds” which is pretty on point., while Cider Girl will be performing the ending theme song for the second season with “Synchro.”

The manga from Yumi Tamura began in 2001 and wrapped up in 2017 with 35 volumes total.

Plot Concept: When Natsu opens her eyes, she is surrounded by ocean. The raging waves take her to an island together with strangers Arashi, Semimaru and Botan. The island is covered by wild jungle inhabited by giant plants, ferocious animals and humongous insects. As they struggle against these new natural enemies, a woman who claims to be their guide tells them the unbelievable truth about the 7SEEDS plan. This involved cryogenically preserving young, healthy humans so that they could survive a global disaster and thus save mankind from extinction. Natsu and the others are shocked to learn that they are the results of the 7SEEDS project, and now these hand-picked survivors must fight for their lives.
