The Black Adam film has been in a wait-state for awhile with Dwayne Johnson set to star as the title character for Warner Bros. / New Line. The project has set filming to begin this month in Georgia and with a July 29th, 2022 release date for it.
Now, some new casting has been added for it with stand-up comedian Mo Amera joining it according to Deadline. His role is being kept quiet at the moment but it’ll raise awareness of his Netflix special and his time on the Hulu show Ramy.
“The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change,” said Dwayne Johnson in the spot previously.
Jaume Collet-Serra is on board to direct based on the screenplay turned in by Adam Sztykiel.
The cast includes Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel/Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson/Dr. Fate, and Djimon Hounsou as Shazam.
