Something that this show has been needing is extravagant bigger-than-life characters. It started with Zetsu Daidan and his overwhelming presence as all bowed to his presence. But he needed a leading lady that matches his intensity. Luckily, Mad Princess Fine Mad Princess is just the right person needed for the job. Fine takes the reigns to even out the battlefield. This all occurs to Zetsu Daidan’s delight. His facial expression has a sense of a pervert but not in the typical fashion. His perversion doesn’t come from a sexual feeling but a thirst for battle. The harder the battle for Zetsu Daidan, the more his sadistic side comes out. The same can be said for Mad Princess Fine. The thrill of battle is too great for her to sit this fight out. I can’t figure out which one is worse. If they weren’t on opposite sides, they would make a perfect couple. To answer the question asked by the title, love does exist on the battlefield.
Love on the battlefield is a bit ridiculous since war brings an endless amount of destruction. The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde aspect has been well done. Princess Fine represents the true self, the Dr. Jekyll who just wants the world to be filled with love. On the other hand, Mad Princess Fine is Mr. Hyde who only wants to create destruction in her path. Mad Princess Fine roots are visible as she still wants the battlefield to be filled with a twisted sense of destruction. There is no difference to her as she exterminates allies and enemies alike. Soldiers “sacrificing” themselves is a form of love in her eyes.
The war ends not with a bang but with the whimpers of love. Back Arrow brings some sanity back to the battle and restores Princess Fine. To add insult to injury, Shu Bi combines Back Arrow powers with Granedger strongest weapon to wipe out Rekka briheights but leave their soldiers alive. This would be the point that war normally ends but Zetsu isn’t satisfied with the war. Zetsu orders his soldiers to fight even though most of their bind warpers have been destroyed and can’t access their briheights. Man vs machine isn’t the best strategy for this war. They would have died if Princess Fine hadn’t used her power to constantly heal the enemy. Her power causes Zetsu Daidan to use the last remaining force of his bind warpers. In a moment of utter shock, he surrenders and agrees to a peace treaty with Princess Fine. Zetsu Daidan was this grandeur man but now he’s been forced to a shell of the man he was. He still thirsts for war and it’s going to be great seeing him and the rest of Rekka start from point zero. At the very least his soldiers remain loyal to him. The war is over and everything is wrapped up and everyone should be happy right?
So far everyone has been wearing their heart and motives on their sleeve. Whether this has good or bad for Lingaling, it has been great but there has been a lacking lament to this world. Elector Supreme menacing attitude is the last piece in the puzzle. One of the downsides of Mad Princess war slaughter is that the Elector Supreme put it on the big screen for all of Lutoh to see. They’re under the impression that Mad Princess Fine isn’t part of a split personality disorder but that it represents the true Princess Fine. Elector Supreme has been lurking in the shadows and his plans are finally coming to fruition. What should have been a happy moment for Lutoh has turned into a nation divided.
In Summary
Love conquers all including the hearts of humans deep into the abyss of their thirst for battle. The war has a concrete resolution but there’s an element that is lacking from what is supposed to shake the core of Lingalind. Princess Fine and Zetsu Daidan are both left in intriguing places as the war come to an end. They both have to rebuild from their losses but in a Freaky Friday situation the heavens shine on the loser as they become winners and the winner faces an unjust fate.
