A new anime adaptation is in the works with the Tesla Note manga being given the green light. The original manga comes from Masafumi Nishida, Tadayoshi Kubo, and Kōta Sannomiya with the first two coming up with the idea and Sannomiya illustrating it. Nishida’s got a lot of credits to his name, including the scripts for the Tiger & Bunny series and movies. The first volume in Japan is set for release this month.

The anime adaptation has Michio Fukuda directing it based on the scripts that Masafumi Nishida is overseeing and writing. POKImari is handling the original character designs while the series is being animated at Gambit.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Konomi Kohara as Botan Negoro
  • Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Kuruma
  • Tomoaki Maeno as Ryūnosuke Takamatsu
  • Junichi Suwabe as Mickey Miller
  • Hiroshi Kamiya as Oliver Thornton

Plot Concept: The spy action manga centers around “Mission T,” a shadow war of spies and secret intelligence waged to prevent the world’s destruction. The story centers on Botan Negoro, who has trained as a ninja since childhood, and has grown to become a talented spy. She teams up with Kuruma, a spy who has a flair for theatrics, in a new mission with the world at stake: to retrieve the “Tesla Crystal,” the “legacy” of genius Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla. But other countries and their agents are already moving to secure the Tesla Crystal, and Botan and Kuruma will have to use all their wit to outsmart them.
