Let’s forget about the big bad Digimon trying to take over the world and watch kids play soccer instead. Watching Taichi and Sora play soccer is way more intriguing than a random antagonist doing nothing to make his case why he should be the antagonist for this series. Though it feels like Taichi and Sora are cheating by playing soccer with their Digimon. They know the rules for the sport while it’s brand new for the Digimon. Taichi and Sora are just wiping the floor with them. Agumon performs a majestic pass to Gabumon but it causes him to tumble and trip Gabumon just when things are getting good. Tentomon tackles Sora as if he’s playing American Football. Sora gets a free kick and she scores and all hope is lost for the Digimon team. Ikkakumon has a giant body but bad hands for goalkeeping. The bigger they are, the harder they fall or should I say the easier they fall. For some bizarre reason, Agumon thinks the ball is their friend. And Tailmon lives with utter boredom as no one can approach her goal since Taichi and Sora are so great at attacking.

Money doesn’t grow on trees but delicious fruits falling off floating islands certainly do exist. Agumon takes a quick taste and everyone wants to try it out but there isn’t enough for everyone. Taichi and Sora take off to get everyone one of the fruits. While Taichi and Sora are off to the floating island, the others are discussing how to classify juice. A refrigerator falls from the floating island and then somehow it turns into a discussion of what is juice. Does it matter if the juice is labeled as fruit juice or mixed juice? These are the questions that keep me up at night. Mimi has the right idea as she only cares if it tastes right. But we never find out what’s in the fridge.

This season has had quite a nasty tone dealing with Darwinism. The strong survive and get to eat upon the weak. But this week gets a bit stranger as the weak Pomumon are converted to fruits by the king of the forest, Toropiamon. Don’t worry, these aren’t the same delicious fruits that the children were eating earlier. Taichi and Metalgreymon fall into the trap and it’s all up to Sora to save the day. Besides Kairi, Sora has gotten the least room to grow. She has been pushed to the back way too often. She becomes the hero but part of her journey involves Taichi pushing her to greater heights.

In Summary:
The perfect answer for this Digimon series is if the kids play soccer, eat hamburgers, or find gems and create an enterprise. That is leagues’ ton more exciting than watching Millenniummon plot to take over the Digiworld for some unknown reason. There is no reason for having to mention Millenniumon ever again. Sora took an important first step to show some personality but there is still room for improvement. It wasn’t on the same level as the Mimi and Joe episodes.
